What is Brainspotting?
“Where you look affects how you feel.” Dr. David Grand. Brainspotting (BSP) is a powerful, neuroscience-informed therapy that helps people process and release trauma, anxiety, and other deeply held emotional blocks. Unlike traditional talk therapy, Brainspotting works with both the mind and body using the brain’s natural ability to heal itself. Discovered by Dr. David Grand in 2003, Brainspotting locates “brainspots”eye positions linked to unprocessed trauma stored in the subcortical brain. These are the areas responsible for survival responses, emotions, and body regulation. By gently focusing on these spots, while staying connected with a safe, attuned therapist, the brain and body can release what has been “stuck,” allowing natural healing to occur.

How it Works & Benefits

-
Eye Positioning: Where your eyes focus helps access the part of the brain holding unresolved experiences.
-
Dual Attunement: The therapist provides a calm, compassionate presence while also guiding you to connect with your inner experience.
-
Bottom-Up Healing: Instead of analyzing events only through words, Brainspotting taps into the body’s wisdom, where trauma is often stored.
