About Your Therapist

Hi, I’m Yvonne Dejean, LICSW, founder of Mind Wellness Institute.

As a mother of three and a licensed therapist, I understand the experience of navigating life’s responsibilities while carrying invisible emotional weight. My work is rooted in compassion, attunement, and a deep respect for the nervous system’s role in healing.

One of the primary modalities I use is Brainspotting, a neuroscience informed approach that supports trauma resolution, reduces emotional overwhelm, and restores clarity. I integrate this work with trauma informed counseling, relational support, and a steady, grounded therapeutic presence. I believe healing happens through connection within yourself, with others, and within the safety of a supportive therapeutic relationship.

My mission is to create a space where individuals, couples, and families feel safe to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and move toward wholeness and resilience.

Professional Background

Before founding Mind Wellness Institute, I spent over ten years supporting individuals and families across a range of clinical settings, including outpatient mental health, family systems work, community health, and private practice. These experiences have shaped the relational, steady, and deeply attuned way I approach therapy today.

I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from Salem State University and my Master of Social Work from Boston University, graduating with high honors. I hold advanced training in:

  • Brainspotting

  • IFS informed therapy

  • Maternal mental health

  • Somatic and nervous system-based trauma work

  • I am especially passionate about supporting individuals who have spent much of their lives keeping it together, including therapists, parents, caregivers, helpers, and high functioning professionals, whoare ready to reconnect with a version of themselves that feels grounded, resourced, and whole.
