What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting (BSP) is a powerful, brain-body-based therapy that allows you to process and release trauma held deep in the nervous system. Developed by Dr. David Grand in 2003, Brainspotting uses specific eye positions (“brainspots”) that correlate with where distress is stored. While gently focusing your gaze, your brain and body begin to process and resolve what’s stuck—often beneath conscious awareness.

It is especially effective for:

-
Trauma (including complex PTSD and developmental trauma)
-
Anxiety and panic
-
Performance blocks (creative, athletic, or academic)
-
Depression
-
Chronic pain and somatic symptoms
-
Grief and unresolved loss

What is a therapy intensive?
A therapy intensive is an extended-format session designed to facilitate deeper healing. We currently offer 3-hour intensives, typically split into two 90-minute blocks.
You may schedule intensives:
-
One at a time
-
Weekly, biweekly, or monthly
-
As a complement to or replacement for weekly therapy

Why choose therapy intensives?
Therapy intensives are ideal if you want:
-
Faster breakthroughs and transformation
-
Support for a specific issue (e.g., trauma, grief, life transition)
-
A deeper dive than weekly sessions allow
-
A more spacious and unrushed healing experience
We use Brainspotting, mindfulness, somatic tracking, and nervous system-aligned tools. Extended time in session allows us to work with your body’s natural rhythm, not against it.

How do intensives save time and money?
In traditional sessions, the deepest work often begins 30–40 minutes in—right before the session ends. In an intensive, we get over 2 hours of focused work in one go.
That means:
-
Fewer sessions needed
-
Faster results
-
Greater integration
-
Long-term savings

What to Expect: Beginning Therapy at Mind Wellness Institute
Starting therapy can feel like a big step—but it doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. Here’s a simple breakdown of how the process works
Step 1: Initial Intake
-
Once you reach out, we’ll schedule a free 15-minute consultation call to ensure we’re a good fit. If you decide to move forward, we’ll book your initial intake session, which lasts about 60–75 minutes.
-
During this intake, we’ll:
-
Review your history and current concerns
-
Explore your goals and what you'd like to get out of therapy
-
Introduce the therapeutic tools we may use (such as Brainspotting or somatic work)
-
Answer any questions you have
-
This session helps set the foundation for our work together and allows us to begin building trust and clarity from day one.

Step 2: Ongoing Sessions
Following the intake, we’ll meet for tailored made deep dive therapy session, mini-intensive or half-day intensive. For clients who prefer to go deeper or want faster progress, we also offer therapy intensives (multiple days per week).

All Sessions Are Online
Therapy takes place via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You can attend from the comfort and privacy of your own space—no commute, no waiting room, just support when and where you need it.
